A Tribute to Dante (Robin) A True Friend and Brother Dante was not just a colleague or a fellow workerhe was so much more. To me, he was a true friend, and even more than that, a brother in every sense of the word. Our friendship began on my very first day of work, on May 20, 2013. As I stepped off the bus near the Aker Solutions office in Bergen, he was the very first person I saw. He approached me with a warm presence and genuine curiosityasking who I was, where I was from in the Philippines, and which company I had come from before arriving in Norway. I answered each question, and soon after, I asked him the same. He responded just as kindly. In that brief moment, I suddenly remembered something significantDante was the very reason I was hired at MMHE in Johor Malaysia. He had resigned from his post and joined with one company in Singapore, creating a vacancy that allowed me to be accepted as a Structural Designer. I thanked him immediately. Had he not moved on, I may not have had the chance to work abroad. But our bond ran deeper than shared work experiences. We were born in the same hometown in the Philippines. We graduated from the same university with engineering degrees, though at different timeshe was ahead of me by eight years. And yet, it wasnt until we were both in Norway that fate finally brought us together. That chance encounter grew into a lasting friendshipone filled with respect, shared stories, and a quiet understanding that needed no words. And while Dante may no longer be with us in this world, I believe with all my heart that our friendship does not end here. We will meet again in the next life. Rest in peace, Dante. Until we meet again.
